February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and in addition to a scheduled guest at 11 am EST, I will be adding another show at 12:30 EST with another guest that will focus on Teen Dating Violence.
My first guest will be Johnnie Dent Jr. who will take us on an astonishing personal journey while sharing with us three decades of his own life. He allows us to reexamine the social dilemmas of domestic violence, single parenting, teenage pregnancy, youth violence, drug trafficking, police brutality, the penal system and even religious intolerance. He is also the author of Sugar Boy and among some of his many accomplishments, he was recently elected to the board of Pneuma Life Foundation for Prevention of Abusive Family Environments and was appointed to two other boards: the I-Gave-Back Foundation and the Church of the Breathing Word, and is currently a Masters Candidate on a Doctoral track.
Our second scheduled guest at 12:30 EST will be Anny Jacoby, Owner/President of The Realistic Female Self-Defense Company. Anny is a survivor of domestic violence and passionately campaigns that EVERY female has the absolute right to protect and defend herself. She also founded Project Safe Girls, which empowers girls (ages 5-23 in school) through the teaching of self-defense (mentally & physically). By providing a supportive and energetic environment, participants will gain confidence and improve self-esteem while learning the basics and importance of safety.
