Ivette Attaud is a social entrepreneur, motivational speaker, former Fort Bragg army wife and a 20-year survivor of domestic violence. After the loss of her infant twin daughter to a domestic violence assault and beginning her journey to healing, her mission has been to bring this social disease out of the closet through public speaking and community awareness projects.
She is the Founder and Program Director of My Life My Soul, an empowering domestic violence program of the Church of the Resurrection created to address the unspoken journey of healing that survivors of domestic violence face after leaving their abuser. Knowing that victims will reach out to the faith based community before even calling the police, Ms. Attaud created and facilitated a training program to help the faith-based community address domestic violence within their own congregations.
She has also written a book about her experience, Silent No More, A Woman’s Story of Surviving Domestic Abuse in the Military, due to be published in the near future.
She has also served on the Battered Woman’s Justice Campaign of Voices of Women Organizing Project (V.O.W.), and provided research on law guardians for Justice Denied, a report published by Voices Of Women Organizing Project on how the New York City Family Court System endangers battered women and children. Ms. Attaud has also appeared as a regular guest on Healing Touch, a public access show on BronxNet’s channel 70 hosted by Evangelist Gina Miller.
In addition to participating in public awareness projects, Ivette now hosts a healing and empowering internet radio show, My Life My Soul Talk Radio.
Ms. Attaud lives in New York with her three surviving children.
